September 4, 2014: Aware of Ruth's declining health, Ajahn Pasanno, Samaṇera Khantiko, and Debbie Stamp visit Ruth Denison in Joshua Tree. Ruth exhorts them that freedom, not happiness, is the goal of practice. Ajahn Pasanno conveys Ruth's message in the talk “Essence.”
February 17, 2015: Ruth Denison suffers a massive stroke.
February 19, 2015: Ajahn Pasanno leads the Abhayagiri Community in chanting for Ruth.
February 26, 2015: Ruth Denison passes.
March 21, 2015: Ajahn Pasanno and Ajahn Karuṇadhammo attend Ruth Denison's memorial service.
