Tudong 2019

On June 9, 2019 Ajahn Sek, Ajahn Ñāniko and Tan Tissaro set off on foot, walking north from Abhayagiri for a traditional wandering pilgrimage - referred to in Thailand as tudong. The journey lasted nearly 3 weeks and they were met with a great deal of support, curiosity, generosity, and kindness.

A family offered their yard in which to camp, a swimming hole in which to bathe, and breakfast the next morning before departure. This is their dog, Mac, a big friendly fella.

Dave Rupe, Abhayagiri's "water guy" since its inception, met the monks at Usal campground and offered hot water for baths and tea, good conversation and the meal prior to their departure for The Lost Coast.

Really?
Okay, road sign. You were right.
Some say "nobody stops on Branscomb Rd." However, these monks received food, water, a place to camp, and even a ride to cover the last few miles of a long day.
